Viva is proud to present Vol. 2 of our compilation series celebrating 15 years of bringing house and techno to the masses. We dig into our back catalogue and re-release more of our favorite cuts from yesteryear as well as 5 fresh new tracks from some outstanding artists. Dan Chapman & Pedro Faria kick things off with “Got Me Confused”, a bittersweet vocal-driven track with an anthem quality that has this one destined for “classic” status. Up next is “Emotion Ocean feat. Nicolea White” from label-head Chad Neiro and Kamaka Pahinui feat. Nicolea White. Defined by a heavy synth stab and an intricate vocal line, this one’s a groover built for a late-night workout. “Essence of Nature” by Myaov carries us into darker and more stripped down territory. This somber and emotive track subtly builds and breaks, never giving away too much at a time and perfect for a post-5am comedown. Evan Rhodes follows up with “Troubled Seoul”, an uptempo and classic house cut ripe with intricate synth work, this track’s got “party-starter” written all over it. “Distorted Beauty” by Jungle People keeps the party moving right along with a disco-infused and percussive trip through house. The raw organic composition provides an energetic live feeling that guarantees to take any dance floor up a notch. “Is It Love” from Undercover Agency provides a warm and fun-loving uptempo vibe dominated by a strong bass line and heavy synth work built for peak-time action. Arco offers up “Push It Up”, another large cut hallmarked by powerful chord progressions and strong vocal work, perpetually building the tension the deeper we get into the track. Lomez takes the tempo down a bit with “On My Mind”, giving us a slow a sludgy trek through tech-house territory. Taking things back up, J. Alvarez provides “Silver Fir”, an introspective number that balances effortlessly between techno, disco, and house. Finally, to close out the compilation we welcome back Phaedrus’s “Cold Storage”. This is a quirky and funked up jam straddling the fine line of techno and house, another fantastic track that’s begging to light up a dance floor near you. Viva Recordings 15 Year Compilation Vol. 2 will be released via all major digital outles on December 16th, 2013. As always, thanks for listening and thank you so much for 15 years of support!
